MU 433 - Instrumental Music Techniques and Materials

The development of instrumental teaching skills for individual, small group and ensemble instruction will be the focus of this course. Philosophical considerations related to the role of instrumental music education and applications of Music Learning Theory provides the framework for this course. Selection of appropriate method book materials, ensemble literature and materials, rehearsal planning and techniques, and the development of a curricular approach to performance ensembles will be emphasized. *Corequisite(s): MU 434.
