OT 111 - Basic Concepts in Occupation

4.00 credits.
An introduction to the conceptual framework for understanding of the occupational and adaptive nature of humans, including concepts that constitute performance areas and those that environmentally influence individuals in performance. Students explore their own motivation, personalities, learning styles and values as a first step in considering themselves as therapeutic resources. Students also explore the beneficial aspects of activity, specifically the world of making and doing. They engage in reflection on the relationships between self and activities and in the process of assessing and evaluating the interrelated elements of activities. *Prerequisite(s): Permission of the instructor for nonmajors, *Corequisite(s): OT 111L.
