EN 302 - The English Language4.00 credits. This course considers the transformation of the English language from its formation in Anglo-Saxon England through modern times. Using cultural, political, historical, literary, and linguistic analyses, students will follow changes in vocabulary and syntax from Beowulf through Shakespeare and on to the many varieties of English spoken around the globe today.
