ED 150 - Early Childhood Development4.00 credits. This course is designed to introduce students to the foundations of early childhood development. The course examines the concepts, theories, and research on child development. The course focuses on the typical and atypical physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and moral development of children between 0 and 9 years. Students will be introduced to different models and approaches in early childhood and developmentally appropriate practices. The course includes 20 hours of field experience (i.e., 2 hours per week for 10 weeks), which will require FBI Clearance, Criminal Record Clearance, and Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance (fees). *Prerequisite(s): ED 105 . *Corequisite(s): ED 150L. A grade of C or better must be earned to continue in the program. Majors only.
