Linguistic and Cultural Diversity in the Classroom introduces future teachers to the special linguistic and cultural educational needs of English Learners (EL). Aspects of cross-linguistic and cross-cultural knowledge will be studied as well as methods of instruction and assessment that focus on the language needs and background knowledge of the EL. Theory and practices of current programs for ELs will also be examined.
