OT 545 - School System Practice Elective4.00 credits. This course is the first in a two-course series designed to allow students to explore in depth the area of school-based practice. Students will learn and discuss current legislation governing therapy practice in general and special education in both public and private school arenas as well as best practice models for screening/evaluation, direct and consultative service delivery, and efficacy research. In addition to in-class lecture content, students will participate in seminars and service-learning or specialty fieldwork. *Prerequisite(s): B.S. in Health and Occupation or B.S. in Occupational Therapy. Register by Instructor. Fall semester.
