HCA 1620 - Healthcare Policy

3.00 credits.
This course provides an introduction to the development and implications of U.S. healthcare public policy, including key governmental and non-governmental participants within the political process.  It examines the major roles played by local, state, and federal governments in the oversight, funding, delivery and evaluation of healthcare services.  To perform this examination, a brief background to the U.S. health care system will be presented.  The course then investigates the formulation of healthcare legislation, the prioritization of healthcare legislation and the implementation of legislative provisions.
