Thermodynamic stability and bonding in ionic and covalent inorganic substances. Inorganic reactivity in acid-base and oxidation-reduction systems. Some descriptive chemistry of main group and transition metal elements. Laboratory is designed to acquaint students with synthetic methods in organic and inorganic chemistry and purification and identification. *Prerequisite(s): CH 114. *Corequisite(s): CH 242L.
