EGR 422 - Operating Systems (CS 422)

4.00 credits.
An examination of the principles and theories behind the design of operating systems as well as their practical implementation. Topics include executives and monitors, task handlers, scheduling algorithms, file handlers, device drivers and interrupt handlers, theories of resource allocation and sharing, multiprocessing and interprocess communication. *Prerequisite(s): CS 222  / EGR 222  and CS 332  / EGR 332 . Spring semester, even-numbered years.
