EGR 367 - Introductory Heat Transfer3.00 credits. This course introduces the three modes of heat transfer - conduction, convection, and radiation. These concepts will be applied to analyze problems of practical interest including fins and heat exchangers. There will be a strong emphasis placed on deriving the governing equations, as this indicates understanding of the underlying physics. Since it is difficult to obtain analytical solutions to most practical heat transfer problems, numerical solution methods will also be covered. *Prerequisite(s): EGR 263 and EGR 321 . Spring semester.
