Professional Studies (A.A., A.S.)

The Associate in Professional Studies is an undergraduate program designed for self-directed learners from various disciplines. It provides a flexible and customizable education tailored to personal and professional interests. This degree integrates foundational knowledge with practical skills, preparing students for careers in various dynamic fields that value adaptable, well-rounded people. Honoring prior academic experiences, the program supports students in completing their degree efficiently. To earn the degree, students must complete a minimum of 64 credits, including the Core Program at the associate level and coursework specific to the Professional Studies major. Graduates emerge with essential professional competencies and work-specific knowledge sought by employers, equipping them for success in a competitive job market.

Students will be able to:

  • Explore interpersonal skills that are key to effective communication in the workplace.
  • Understand organizational structure, including conflict resolution, for industries to function effectively.
  • Discuss real-world industry issues and solutions to improve work-specific practice.
  • Identify roles in diversified communities and industries.

In addition to the requirements above, students are responsible for completing The School of Graduate and Professional Studies: Core Program.

Notes:


  • Students may take any additional electives to achieve the 64-credit minimum for an associate degree.
  • Residency, a student must have at least nine (9) credits in their major, and a minimum of 15 of the last 30 credit hours must be taken at Elizabethtown College
  • A maximum of 64 transfer credits from a two-year and a maximum of 95 credits from a four-year college or university. These minimums include up to a maximum of 32 credits earned through Challenge Through Examination (Advanced Placement, CLEP, International Baccalaureate, etc.).
