ED 105 - Foundations of Teaching and Learning4.00 credits. This course is designed to introduce students to the philosophical, sociological, political and historical foundations of education and learning. The course emphasizes on the concepts, theories, and research on learning and the factors, including teaching, that influence learning. Includes 20 hours (i.e., 2 hours per week for 10 weeks) of field experience with a rotation of placements in early childhood, middle, and secondary levels, which will require FBI Clearance, Criminal Record Clearance, and Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance (fees). *Corequisite(s): ED 105L. A grade of C or better must be earned to continue in the program. Majors only.
