SP 314 - Modern Hispanic America4.00 credits. A selective study of the shared cultural heritages among Hispanic American societies to an understanding and appreciation of contemporary life. The course offers an interdisciplinary treatment of diverse aspects of modern society, including geography, politics/government, religion, Indigenismo, regionalism, cultural identity, language policy, popular culture, and societal structure, to name a few. Films and internet/mass media resources support topics under discussion. *Prerequisite(s): SP 212 or placement. Alternating spring semesters.
