MBA 530 - Corporate Social Responsibility: Making a Bigger Impact on the World 3.00 credits. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is viewed as a business and social movement that influences the role of businesses in a global world. The fundamental component of CSR is essential in an age of transparency to how a business operates and how CSR is linked to business strategies and practices. Students will gain an understanding of how integrating CSR into day to day business operations serves as a differentiating factor for businesses to remain competitive over the long term in a constantly evolving and globalized world. This syllabus explores the environmental and social aspects of CSR and the advantages/disadvantages to stakeholders. It examines the moral, rational, and economic argument for CSR and its importance and relevance when tied to an organization’s core mission.
