This course provides the knowledge and skill set to administer healthcare organizations and programs. It examines the internal operations of healthcare organizations (e.g. hospitals, practices, ambulatory care, long-term care, managed care and insurance companies); and expand the student’s traditional management knowledge - plan, direct, monitor, evaluate - as well as contemporary management models that are used in healthcare organizations. Concepts of planning, organizational behavior, and management specifically applicable to the administration of healthcare organizations and programs are presented.
