Student Learning Outcomes for Communications:
Students will be able to:

Write effective communication materials for a variety of contexts.

The Communications major requires 32 common credits:

Students must declare a concentration of study by the beginning of their sophomore year (second year) and transfer students (internal or from other institutions) must declare a concentration of study upon declaring the communications major. Declaring the concentration late could result in students taking additional semesters of study to complete course work in proper sequence. To maintain the integrity and unique quality of the concentrations, most courses are not transferrable between concentrations. Inherent in this assumption: prerequisite courses must be taken in advance of courses, NOT as co-requisites. Although not required, a minor course of study is recommended by the Department of Communications.
