The Early Assurance Program with Penn State University College of Medicine Physician Assistant Program is an opportunity for Elizabethtown College students to gain provisional acceptance during their third undergraduate year into the Penn State College of Medicine, Physician Assistant’s Program.
Elizabethtown College is one of only two exclusive colleges that offers The Early Assurance Program with Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine’s Physician Assistant Program. The program was established to encourage undergraduate students to pursue careers as Physician Assistants and to work in areas of primary care. This program gives these students the option for matriculation to The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine’s Physician Assistant Program upon completing a Bachelor’s degree, having maintained competitive grade point average at Elizabethtown College with GRE Test scores, and a successful interview as stipulated by The Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.
Students in this program may pursue any major but must complete the required courses listed below. The student must accumulate a minimum GPA of 3.5 in biology, chemistry, and physics courses and a minimum overall GPA of 3.5 by January of his or her junior year of college. Combined GRE score of 311 with analytical writing scores of 4.0 and demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in primary care upon completion of the program are also required. If students meet these criteria, they will be guaranteed an interivew with the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine’s Physician Assistant Program.
