HCA 1620 - Health Care Policy 3.00 credits. This course provides an introduction to the development and implications of U.S. health care public policy, including key governmental and non-governmental participants within the political process. It examines the major roles played by local, state, and federal governments in the oversight, funding, delivery and evaluation of health care services. To perform this examination, a brief background to the U.S. health care system will be presented. The course then investigates the formulation of health care legislation, the prioritization of health care legislation and the implementation of legislative provisions.
