MCP 639 - Community Mental Health

This course will provide an introduction to community-based approaches and interventions for the management of mental health. Community psychology and community mental health are concerned with the interactional effects of social, cultural, environmental, and economic factors that influence mental illness and mental healthcare. Students will gain a systems-wide perspective on mental health service provision in America and examine disparities and challenges that exist in the mental healthcare system.
