MCP 645 - Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy

This course will provide students with an understanding of the effects of trauma, techniques for assessing trauma, and trauma-informed counseling practices. A variety of types of trauma will be considered, including, for example, sexual trauma, military trauma, and exposure to mass violence and natural disasters. Counseling interventions such as trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) will be introduced. Spring semester.
