HEN H253 - HNR Gaelic and Anglo-Irish Ireland

A study of the intersection between the Gaelic and Anglo-Irish linguistic, cultural and literary traditions of Ireland. Besides exploring the past and present state of Gaelic language and culture, the class will focus on the impact of the older Gaelic heritage on English-language classics by writers such as Swift, Joyce, Yeats, Beckett and Heaney.
