Master of Education in Educational Leadership (M.Ed.)


The Master of Education in Educational Leadership (M.Ed.) program at Elizabethtown College is designed to empower future leaders with the essential skills for excellence in leadership roles within K-12 education, higher education, training and development, and interdisciplinary industries. This 33-credit program provides educators with flexible options for meeting their career aspirations and becoming change agents in one of five concentration areas: Educational Leadership, Higher Education, Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Trauma-Informed Leadership, Artificial Intelligence and Educational Technology leadership, and Educational Leadership and Principal’s Certificate Concentration.

Student Learning Outcomes:
  • Cultivate strategic leadership by establishing and reinforcing a clear mission, vision, goals, and core values, fostering a culture of shared commitment, and driving continuous improvement efforts to realize the established vision and goals.
  • Promote effective instructional leadership through the strategic enhancement of professional development, capacity building, implementing a rigorous curriculum, high-quality instruction, and establishing robust assessment and accountability measures.
  • Foster a climate and culture of inclusive excellence by nurturing a community of care and support, promoting equity, cultural responsiveness, and holistic development.
  • Develop a culture of ethical leadership by promoting both ethical and legal behavior while cultivating a strong foundation in ethical values and beliefs.
  • Achieve effective organizational leadership by proficiently managing operational systems, strategically aligning, securing fiscal and human resources, and ensuring stakeholder well-being and safety.
  • Enhance community engagement leadership by actively collaborating with families and diverse community stakeholders, addressing local interests and needs, and optimizing available community resources for mutual benefit.

A current teaching certificate (PA or other) is required for students choosing the Educational Leadership and Principal’s Certificate concentration.
