Student Learning Outcomes for Exercise Science major:
Students will be able to: - Apply scientific knowledge to improve human health, fitness, and performance.
- Perform and interpret health screenings and consultations, fitness testing, and develop appropriate exercise programs based on needs of clients.
- Demonstrate the ability to design, implement, and manage, exercise programs and health and fitness facilities.
- Critically evaluate and apply research findings relevant to exercise science.
- Demonstrate effective professional and interpersonal skills.
The Exercise Science major requires:
Choose one of the following concentrations:
Pre-Athletic Training Concentration:
In addition to the requirements listed above, students in the Pre-Athletic Training concentration will be required to take the following courses: Pre-Physical Therapy Concentration:
In addition to the requirements listed above, students in the Pre-Physical Therapy concentration will be required to take the following courses. Electives are not required for the Pre-PT concentration. Strength and Conditioning Concentration:
In addition to the requirements above, students in the Strength and Conditioning concentration will be required to take: Exercise Science majors can elect to take up to two of the following 500-level courses as elective credits:
