SED 224 - Methods of Teaching Students with High Incidence Disabilities (MSE 524)

4.00 credits.
A study of the specialized instructional strategies to adapt and accommodate classroom environments, testing methodologies, and curricula to meet the needs of exceptional children and youth. Emphasis is on high incidence disabilities, such as learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD, emotional and behavior disorders, communication disorders. This course also examines issues related to cultural or linguistic diversity. Field experience is required which will require FBI Clearance, Criminal Record Clearance, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, and TB Test (fees). *Prerequisite(s): ED 250  and SED 222 , or permission of the Department, *Corequisite(s): SED 224L. Provisional or formal acceptance into Education Program required.
