PSY 350 - Child Psychopathology and Treatment4.00 credits. This course is intended to provide an introduction to the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychopathology in childhood and adolescence. In this course, we will attend to developmental and sociocultural factors that influence the onset, maintenance, and treatment of mental health disorders in children and adolescents. In addition to in-depth coverage of specific disorders (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, conduct problems), we will discuss ethical and legal issues pertinent to clinical work with these populations. *Prerequisite(s): PSY 105 and junior status or permission of instructor. Offered alternate years.
