ED 105 - Foundations of Teaching and Learning 4.00 credits. This course is designed to introduce students to the philosophical, sociological, political and historical foundations of education and learning. The course emphasizes on the concepts, theories, and research on learning and the factors, including teaching, that influence learning. Fieldwork experience is required which will include a rotation of placements in early childhood, middle, and secondary levels, and will require an FBI Clearance, Criminal Record Clearance, Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance, and TB Test (fees). *Prerequisite(s): Education majors only. *Corequisite(s): ED 105L. A grade of C or better must be earned to continue in the program.
