BA 395 - Strategic Human Resources

4.00 credits.
This course emphasizes the strategic role of managing the human assets of an organization and the important role HR managers have in creating competitive advantage. Students will learn how to design and execute HR policies and practices to enhance the value of people and the effectiveness of organizations in the 21st century. This program seeks to build on the student’s prior knowledge of the HRM field at an operational level by taking a strategic perspective that focuses on key overarching themes and imperatives – Strategic Human Resources Management in action. Students will discuss timely and critical topics such as diversity and inclusion, leading through crisis, high-performance work systems, employee relations, HR analytics, talent development, employee engagement, evidence-based HR management, and organizational development and change.  *Prerequisite(s): BA 265 .
