The interdisciplinary minor in Anabaptist and Pietist Studies consists of 24 credits. The required introductory course, Anabaptist and Pietist Movements, is designed to orient students to the European historical and theological roots of these religious traditions. The elective courses enable students to shape a personal program of emphasis that draws on the resources of three academic disciplines: religion, history, and sociology.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Students will be able to:
- Analyze Anabaptist and Pietist groups, employing various perspectives and drawing on primary and secondary literature.
- Articulate a clear understanding of three distinctive characteristics each of the Anabaptist movements and the Pietist movement.
- Integrate understanding of Anabaptist and Pietist groups, including plain groups, with the college experience and awareness of a global perspective on these groups.
