The Bachelor of Science in Integrative Studies creates an avenue for those in their third year and beyond to find a path toward completing a college degree. The degree seeks to prepare students to enter the job market upon graduation by:
- Honoring previous academic experience
- Providing focused academic advising and career development services
- Equipping through on-the-job training and real-world application via internships and/or a capstone course
The degree is designed to help students prepare to be competitive in the job market after graduation. Students are required to work with a member of the Academic Advising Center to determine course equivalencies and to develop a degree completion plan according to the requirements of the Integrative Studies major. Students earning a BS degree complete all Core requirements (44 credit hours), as well as at least 16 credit hours of coursework in two emphasis areas. A two-credit internship or a capstone course specific to the emphasis areas are also required. All applications and degree plans must be approved by the Associate Provost for Student Learning.
