REL 344 - The Nonviolent Ethics of Martin Luther King, Jr.4.00 credits. An introduction to the social ethics of Martin Luther King Jr., the course explores the sources, substantive content and evolution of King’s reflections on social institutions (the state and market), social actions (peacemaking and redistributing resources), social roles (prophet and politician), and moral character. King’s social ethics in relationship to his theological beliefs and personal practices are examined.
